Bitter sweet

Ladies,
We are meeting tonight, 7/18 and next Monday, 7/25 at our usual spot: Origin Coffee and Tea (2168 Sunset blvd Suite 105 Rocklin, 95675) at 6:00pm.
We are studying the story of Miriam, found in the book of Numbers.
So bitter that we only will be meeting for two more weeks this summer, but so sweet that we get that extra time with our families and that it won’t be too long before we meet again at our same spot in September!!!! That’s right! We’re taking a break for the month of August, but will be up and running again for the fall!
See ya there tonight!!!!!

Inspired to Act!

Clayton Butler graced us with a “cliff’s notes” version of a 4 day training on how the church can demolish sex trafficking……..WOW! I thought I was fired up to act on this issue, but now I challenge everyone to act. What a time we are in. 27,000,000 slaves in the world today…… No, that’s not a typo…. 27,000,000. Sacramento just so happens to be a city that suffers greatly with human trafficking, primarily with foster child runaways as the victims. What can be done? TONS! There are many many organizations that focus on different areas of the issue: rescuing the girls, rehabilitating the girls, arresting and ministering to the facilitators, arresting and ministering to the purchasers, and preventative strategies with
youth in high risk communities. Much can be done, and the 900 churches in Sacramento can move on this and crush it under it’s feet.

The message Clayton shared was video recorded last night, and is being prepared for viewing, for anyone interested.

Sobering Thought to Ponder

While reading today’s passage of my daily devotional, an electrical shock pierced my spirit. The writer of the devotional talks about walking through the cemetery in her Texas community and coming across the tombstone of evangelist Leonard Ravenhill. In granite, the words on his stone read: IS WHAT YOU ARE LIVING FOR WORTH CHRIST DYING FOR?
